Overview

Develop strategy and manage relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufactures for the benefit of Fairview Pharmacy Services.  Work with internal stakeholders to better coordinate the objectives of individual departments/projects, thereby leveraging Fairview Pharmacy Services’, health system enterprise and partner value to pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers to the best of our ability.

 

Lead initiatives to engage with specialty drug manufacturers to secure limited distribution drug access.  Articulate the value of Fairview’s best in class pharmacy services to establish specialty manufacturer partnerships that position us for future growth. Stay abreast of key pharma market developments involving specialty pharmacy, understand opportunities/ramifications and communicate insights and recommendations to FPS leadership.  Provide specialty manufacturer customer perspective to enhance internal development initiatives and operational programs to further add value for our customers.

 

This position requires remote work. In addition to adhering to all Fairview policies, guidelines, procedures, the Fairview Commitments, and the Code of Conduct, it is the expectation the following requirements of the remote work policy will be met, including but not limited to:

Responsibilities/Job Description

Manage key pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturer relationships across Fairview Pharmacy Services.

 

Execute on business development activities with the above manufacturers to position Fairview Pharmacy Services as the pre-eminent health system pharmacy partner in the US.

 

Develop contacts at targeted manufacturers regarding new products in the pipeline and advocate for Fairview’s inclusion in limited distribution product networks. 

 

Stay up to date on all current Fairview Pharmacy Services efforts, initiatives and projects involving pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers.

 

Engage external partners (e.g.: Excelera, other national groups) on behalf of Fairview Pharmacy Services to advance the pharma-associated goals of both parties.

 

Participate in the Fairview Pharmacy Services development planning process by sharing market insights regarding pharma and providing input on how to optimize system value and influence with pharma.

 

Consistently provide up-to-date information regarding Fairview Pharmacy Services initiatives with manufacturers to senior management.

 

Participate in representing Fairview Pharmacy Services at relevant local, regional and national conferences, meetings, exhibits and presentations.  Focus should be on increasing market awareness of the Fairview Pharmacy Services brand and developing contacts/network in the pharmacy industry.

 

Collaborate with the leadership team to develop strategies, tactics and materials to position Fairview Pharmacy Services as a top provider and national platform partner of specialty and home infusion pharmacy services.     

 

Oversee pharma relationship and participate in manufacturer RFP/RFI responses and any finalist presentation processes to deliver a finished product that positions Fairview Pharmacy Services to successfully attain access to limited distribution specialty products.

 

Oversee pharma relationship and participate in manufacturer contracting process.

 

Provide Fairview Pharmacy Services with input from manufacturers to enhance operational and development initiatives to add further value for these and other customers.

 

Collaborate with leaders to manage and direct Fairview Pharmacy Services efforts to engage local/regional Fairview and non-Fairview providers to provide customer feedback to optimize value, pharma and payer access, program development, operations and capture by Fairview Specialty Pharmacy.

 

Lead initiatives to engage with specialty drug manufacturers to secure limited distribution drug access.

  • Work with the pipeline team to identify potential future specialty drug entrants and prioritize products to target.
  • Understand patient population, site of care, and product-specific nuances to best position Fairview as a desirable partner in bringing the product to market.
  • Identify key pharma decision-makers and successfully initiate contact. Articulate Fairview Specialty Pharmacy capabilities, benefits and value proposition tailored to specific products
  • Position Fairview as the specialty pharmacy partner of choice, culminating in winning access to limited distribution specialty drugs.

 

Articulate the value of Fairview’s best in class pharmacy services to specialty manufacturers. Fully leverage Fairview’s specialty pharmacy assets including clinical services, operational excellence, data sophistication, payer relationships/influence and provider connectivity to position for future growth.

 

Provide up-to-date information regarding Fairview Specialty Pharmacy development initiatives, new programs, and services to specialty manufacturer contacts. Continually look for ways to leverage these unique programs and services to highlight Fairview Specialty Pharmacy as a marketplace leader.  

 

Participate in manufacturer specialty drug RFP (Request for Proposal) process. Lead finalist presentation preparation and deliver a finished product that positions Fairview to successfully attain access to limited distribution specialty products.

 

Participate in the contracting process.  Ensure contracts reflect agreed upon terms. 

 

Stay abreast of key pharma market developments involving specialty pharmacy and understand opportunities and ramifications for Fairview. Provide insights and recommendations to FPS leadership. 

 

Function as the Fairview system point of contact for new manufacturer inquiries. Assess the opportunity and triage/coordinate/inform as appropriate.

 

Communicate pharma customer perspective to enhance internal development initiatives and operational programs to further add value for our customers.

 

 Provide input into the development of marketing materials, including presentations and web pages, tailored to manufacturer customers.

Qualifications

Required

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, pharmacy, science or a related field

 

Experience

10 years experience in pharmacy industry. Preferably at a specialty pharmacy in industry relations, or at a manufacturer of specialty products in a role focused on Trade, Market Access, Distribution/Channel Strategy or Managed Market area. Experience in these roles with Limited Distribution Drugs is desirable. Proven experience building relationships, negotiating with others to accomplish goals and meeting outcomes
