Overview

M Health Fairview Health Services is seeking a Echocardiographer  in  East Metro of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul. This position is 80 hours per two weeks on the Day shift, for 8 hour shifts, flex position to include hours at St. Joseph's Hospital St. Paul, MN, Bethesda Hospital, St. Paul, MN and Woodwinds Hospital, Woodbury, MN  and is eligible for benefits.

 

 

  • FTE: 80 hours per pay period
  • Shift: Day
  • Shift Length: 8 hours 
  • Weekend requirement: One weekend per Month
  • Location: St. Paul, MN and Woodbury, MN

Responsibilities/Job Description

Perform non-invasive cardiac diagnostic imaging using ultrasound technology to aid the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac diseases to include the following: 

  • Various echocardiograms according to departmental policies and procedures.
    • Transthoracic echocardiograms.
    • Exercise and pharmacological echocardiograms.
    • Utilize and administer contrast agents for echocardiograms as needed
    • Perform 3D as needed
    • Perform Myocardial Strain Imaging as needed
    • Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
    • Prepares echocardiogram for interpretation including accurate preliminary report
    • Prepare and Perform Bubble Studies
    • Peripheral IV/ Catheter Insertion 

  • Participates in quality assurance activities per IAC and laboratory standards.
    • Attends required Q.A. meetings.
    • Participates in quality improvement programs.
    • Correlation studies.
    • Required continuing medical education (CME)
    • Participate in research studies as needed
  • Completes various clerical and departmental tasks for efficient departmental operations.
    • Completes patient registration.
    • Replenish laboratory supplies as needed.
    • Clean echo cart and room after each use.
    • Copies and prepare DVD/CD  for outside interpretation/use.

  • Compliance with  JACHO

Qualifications

Required

  • One to three years of echocardiography experience
  • RDCS/RCS or eligible for registry within 1 year from date-of-hire
  • BLS certified
  • Completes all initial and annual required learning relevant to the role.
  • Complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Contributes to a safe work environment

Preferred

  • Associate degree in echocardiography
