  • Overview

    The Senior Quality Consultant investigates/explores complex organizational issues in order to identify and develop strategic priorities for improvement. This role is responsible for developing process/performance improvement plans, directing/managing implementation teams, and bringing projects to completion. The performance projects for which this role has responsibility will most often be house-wide, cross-departmental, cross-functional and complex in nature.


    This consultant will be for peri-operative services.

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    • Independently synthesize information from multiple internal and external sources and develop/implement strategies/tactics to solve complex organization challenges.
    • Bring clarity to complex conceptual projects, which cut across major components of the organization, such as FUMC/UMP/AHC or the clinical/financial dimensions of the organization.
    • Provide senior level management analysis and support for the identification and prioritization of FUMC strategic priorities for improvement.
    • Provide leadership at all levels of the organization in the use of performance improvement tools/methodology, project management, facilitation, and coordination/collaboration.
    • Understands the interplay regulatory requirements may have on the effect of the development of implementation strategies (e.g., CMS, JCAHO, HIPPA, etc.).
    • Provides mentor related coaching and consultative skills with less experience consultants given their high level of expertise in PI/PM methodologies.




    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare


    • 10-12 years of combined education in relevant area, clinical experience, and/or PI/PM experience in a hospital setting.
    • Computer skills at an expert knowledge and application level required for spreadsheets, tables, statistical packages and powerpoint required


    • Either certification from an accredited PI training program (ie Green Belt, Black Belt, CPHQ, etc) or by virtue of education/training evidence of applied knowledge of measurement and/or research design equivalent to PI concepts.




    • Master’s Degree in Business or Healthcare


    • More than 15 years of combined education in relevant area, clinical experience, and/or PI/PM experience in a hospital setting.
