  • Overview

    As a member of the interdependent team led by a designated RN, assists with the achievement of patient and unit outcomes by performing patient care duties and activities for a group of patients. Creates an atmosphere of hospitality on the unit and contributes to efficient unit operation by carrying out unit activities.

     

    We have two part-time, benefit eligible opportunities (0.6 FTE, 48 hours/ pay period) to work on our In-Patient Mental Health unit. The shift is evenings during the week 3pm-11:30pm), every other weekend (Fri-Sun), and rotating holidays.

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    • Demonstrates commitment to the universal guiding principles of the patient care model in order to achieve the HealthEast Nursing Vision
    • Supports the Nursing Process to achieve outcome focused patient care
    • Communicates effectively with patient/family, the interdependent team and other disciplines regarding the care of the patient
    • Achieves customer service excellence by understanding the needs of all internal and external customers (patients, families and physicians)
    • Documents patient information in EHR and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards and department policies and procedures
    • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards
    • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements
    • Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Associate's Degree
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology/Chemical Dependency or related field
    • 1 year experience in Mental Health
