Non-Clinical Support Staff

Neurology - Surgery
Facilitates the Neuro patient throughput and operations by performing tasks including, reception, treatment authorization, scheduling, registration, charge entry communications with patients, families and physicians.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements
Monitors and coordinates patient throughput process, with ability to complete any non-clinical support tasks
Manages patient scheduling for consult, treatment and follow up appointments
Provides coordination of all front desk activities such as greeting patients and families, mail distribution, copying/faxing, maintaining office supply inventory and keeping waiting rooms in order
Works with patients and insurance companies to validate authorization for payment of services. Facilitates the completion of all required forms, including insurance, release of information and registration, in order to comply with all legal and payer guidelines
Assures timely management of paperwork and telephone communication from patients and physicians
Assists in the capture and documentation of accurate patient information and in maintaining organized medical records
High school graduate or equivalent
2 to 3 years office related experience with an emphasis on customer service, preferable in a hospital or clinic setting
