    This Patient Care Supervisor (PCS) will lead a dynamic Float Pool team together with Nurse Manager at Fairview Southdale Hospital.  The float pool team is comprised of highly skilled RN's, Nursing Assistants, and HUC's that float to the Orthopedic, Neuro, Medical/Tele unit, Cardiac Telemetry, Observation, Surgical,  Medical/Oncology unit and more!

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    The Patient Care Supervisor (PCS) is responsible for assisting the Manager and Director with the daily operations in the Float Pool at Fairview Southdale Hospital.

     

    This includes:

    • Supervising the staff, including but not limited to hiring, discipline and performance evaluations.
    • Responsibility for projects as delegated including a focus on meeting the needs of our customers, collaboration with nursing and physician leadership to implement and evaluate standards of practice, and utilization of process improvement methodologies to assure safe and quality patient care.
    • Assisting with staff education as needed. 
    • Being a role model for patient care and customer service, working closely with our physician partners.
    • Supporting orientation of new employees to role, department and organization.
    • Assisting with development and completion of annual staff competencies, monitoring compliance and takes action for non-compliance.
    • Supporting staff development and learning opportunities to meet identified needs.
    • Maintaining appropriate staffing by adjusting volumes to meet the needs.
    • Monitoring and prioritizing assignments to assure timely, productive, and efficient use of resources.
    • Collaborating with Nursing and Provider leadership to implement and evaluate standards of practice

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field, If bachelor’s is not in nursing then must have a master’s degree in nursing
    • Minnesota RN license
    • BLS
    • 3 years clinical nursing experience


    Preferred Experience

    • 1 year leadership experience
    • Specialty Certification
