    The Business Intelligence System Administrator is responsible for enterprise wide business intelligence systems. Responsibilities include installation, configuration and upgrading business intelligence systems. The BI System Administrator partners with other teams in Information Technology to deliver analytic solutions and capabilities to the enterprise.


    This position will work with the Data Platform Solutions Program Manager in designing, implementing and managing the Healthcare Transformation Center (HTC) and Systems Operations Center (SOC) capability from a data and supporting technologies perspective. This new HTC and SOC capability will enable real-time decision-making for hospital and clinic operations through the utilization of new technology. These capabilities leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to help anticipate issues, keep operational workflows on track and make proactive operational decisions.

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    • Provide customer service and issue resolution support to clinical staff as they utilize HTC and SOC software platforms.
    • Collaborate with clinical and Information Technology teams, as well as 3rd party vendors, in the discovery and validation of new product opportunities.
    • Develop a deep understanding of the software platforms that are deployed through the HTC and SOC.
    • Stay current with new technologies and industry best practices to leverage the assessment, design, testing, implementation and support of new and existing solutions.  Provide expertise on assigned domains or assigned assets (to include interrelationships with other systems, applications and technology) to identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and improve processes.  Work with the business and across technology to analyze business requirements then manage the design or redesign of complex integration solutions.  Advise on viability and feasibility of alternative approaches. 
    • Administer servers and applications that are related to analytic capabilities and solutions, including but not limited to SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Power BI and Qliktech QlikView.
    • Installs, configures and upgrades business intelligence systems in production, development and test environments.
    • Maintains patch levels.
    • Creates and maintains security groups and user access, as well as general security rules.
    • Deploys analytic solutions and reports to test and production environments.
    • Monitors system performance and availability and leads and resolves issues when identified.
    • Gathers and provides usage metrics.
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation for the business intelligence systems and associated processes.
    • Maintains a library of BI and analytic assets, including reports, dashboards, data sources and semantic layers.
    • Partners with Information Technology based Analytic and ETL Developers in the design and development of solutions.
    • Provides Tier 1 customer support and problem resolution in a timely and professional manner.
    • Provides on-call production support.
    • Ensure that the analytic platforms meet Service Level Agreements.
    • Utilizes automated and repeatable processes to administer multiple instances of platforms.
    • Work closely with cloud management and data engineering teams to provide support for the Business Intelligence platforms


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field is required or a minimum of four years on the job experience
    • 3-5 years’ business intelligence system administration on at least one of the following; SAP Business Objects, Microsoft Power BI and Qliktech QlikView.
    • 3- 5 years’ RDMS experience on at least one of the following; Oracle, MS SQL Server.
    • 3-5 years’ experience building and maintaining semantic layers, including but not limited to Universes, SSAS Cubes and Data Sets.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and business terms.
    • Excellent logical, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Experience within the Health Care industry, preferably with Epic Systems Electronic Health Record software preferred.
    • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products.
