The Coordinator- Hospital Imaging Services staff is responsible for facilitating check-in services for Pediatric & Adult Imaging, Pediatric Cardiovascular ECHO & Pediatric Sedation outpatients at the hospital outpatient imaging reception desks; serving complex pediatric & adult outpatients and department staff.  Coordinates the flow of outpatients, acts as the liaison to the registration and communicates to the Technologist and nursing staff, as well as other clerical functions that meet the needs of a multi functioning check-in reception desk

• Responsible for ensuring patients are checked in accurately, following the workflows of the department.
• Answers multiple phone lines; covering different sections for pediatric and adult populations, addressing the callers’ needs quickly and correctly.
• Ensures that exceptional customer service for outpatients and guests is achieved and is responsible to support a positive impression to our hospital outpatient imaging, cardiovascular and pediatric sedation patients and their families and guests.
• Assess the need for patients’ special accommodations and interpreter support.
• Effectively communicates in a courteous, efficient and professional manner with patients, families, staff, referring physicians, clinic coordinators following the guidelines of HIPAA. Demonstrates the ability to perform multiple, simultaneous tasks in an environment faced with interruptions.
• Understands and follows: Patient Privacy, Patient Bill of Rights, HIPAA, Defined age for consent (Pediatrics).
• Understands the Electronic Health Record system to navigate and assist with patient knowledge of appointments in other departments.
• Engages in change to improve the work environment.
• Works collaboratively with all providers, callers, nursing staff and other team members and actively participates in the productivity of the assigned unit.
• Effectively adjusts with changes in work activities, in a high volume outpatient department.
• Work environment is very complex and fast-paced so incumbent must be able to multi-task and have capacity for ambiguity and be a self-starter.
