  • Overview

    Fairview Health Services is looking for a Department Business Coordinator based out of the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  This position is approved for 72 hours every two weeks, benefit eligible position. The schedule will be Monday – Friday during primary business hours.

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    The Department Business Coordinator position is responsible for day to day administrative support for administrative and medical leaderships of the department’s palliative care, the Palliative Care Leadership Center (PCLC) and integrative therapies.  Serves as the initial triage contact to internal and external audiences for palliative care, PCLC, the APRN Externship and other educational programs.  Supports department directors and clinical staff for scheduling meetings, clinical schedules, travel arrangements, scheduling annual employee evaluations, invoice preparation and budget tracking. Assist/facilitate employee and external visitor education sessions.  Collaborates with departments and marketing to update websites (internal and external), enter survey questions and coordinate responses for quality projects. Participate in other projects as assigned.

    • Provides clerical support for the identified departments
    • Serves as a business partner with operations management to research, coordinate and triage related issues
    • Coordinates and assists with Palliative Care Education Initiatives.
    • Supports the palliative care program
    • Researches, selects vendor and service contracts


    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, health care or a related field, or equivalent experience in an administrative role
    • Two to Five years administrative support in health care or similar environment
