  • Overview

    Fairview Health Services is looking for a Central Processing Center Instrument Processing Technician based out of the University or Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  This is a full time, 80 hours every two weeks, bennefit elligable night shift position.

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    This position determines Operating Room surgical instrument needs for surgery cases and sets up surgical instrument trays.  Decontaminates and sterilizes surgical instruments including preparation.  Decontaminates, cleans, processes, assembles, sterilizes, stores and distributes surgical instruments for Surgery and Obstetrics for Fairview Ridges, Fairview Southdale, Fairview Lakes Regional, Fairview Northland Regional and University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview corporate. Serves as a resource to physicians, nurses and medical staff in the Operating Room regarding surgical instruments.

    • Reviews and interprets O.R. surgery schedule on an on-going basis to determine priority of surgical instruments needed. Assembles instruments according to the daily distribution report.
    • Responds to emergency requests for supplies and instruments.
    • Decontaminates CPC instrumentation and equipment.
    • Serves as a resource to surgeons, nurses and other medical personnel.
    • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3-5 years of Sterile processing or related experience
