University of Minnesota Medical Center is an exciting and fast-paced hospital environment to work as a pharmacy technician. UMMC is an academic medical center, where we take care of some of Minnesota’s sickest patients.
Technicians on our East Bank campus support pharmaceutical care for acutely ill adult patients that include oncology, transplant, and stroke patients. On West Bank, our technicians support pharmaceutical care for pediatric, behavioral health, and adult patients. Technicians at UMMC are trained to work in a variety of settings, including Central Distribution, IV Sterile Compounding, ICU/OR satellites and Automation.
Technicians also participate in lifesaving resuscitation efforts for cardiac arrest patients as part of a Code Team. They staff alongside and support clinically trained pharmacists and pharmacy residents, working with cutting edge medication therapies and technologies.
