  • Overview

    The Traffic Coordinator will assist Patient Education Editors by performing administrative duties such as project intake and assignment, client correspondence, data-basing, light document design, file handling, document deployment (sending to multiple electronic systems), and other routine tasks. Candidates must possess the following exceptional attention to details and deadlines, outstanding organizational skills, the ability to quickly learn complex processes and new applications, and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Traffic Coordinator reports to the Director of Patient Education and Technology.

    Responsibilities/Job Description

    • Serves as traffic coordinator, supporting the intake of new and revised project requests, checking for existing content that might meet the need, and assigning projects to editors
    • Maintains complete and accurate database records
    • Obtains content revisions and approvals from clinical content owners as needed
    • Provides or obtains text files, URLs, reports and other information for clients and team members
    • Cross-checks, exports and archives Editors’ completed documents daily
    • Manages simple document updates in InDesign, exporting into multiple formats (html, xml, pdf)
    • Strives to reduce unnecessary variation, eliminating duplicative and inappropriate content
    • Collaborates with HIM, Risk Management, IT, Interpreter Services and other departments as needed
    • Helps enforce Fairview’s policies related to health literacy, branding, formatting, medical best practices and other requirements
    • Remains alert to copyright and other compliance concerns
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team
    • Able to quickly learn complex processes and new applications
    • Strong organizational skills

    • Familiarity with FileMakerPro (or similar), Excel

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Education: No minimum requirement
    • Experience: 3 years’ prior experience in a similar role

    Preferred

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree
    • Experience: Prior experience with FileMakerPro
